Dennis Aubrey

Dennis Aubrey is a graduate student in the Master of Environmental Studies program.  He is coordinating the Taylor’s checkerspot butterfly rearing project at Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women. He is also carrying out a forest canopy research project characterizing and comparing seasonal moisture and temperature variation in arboreal vs forest floor soils in the Quinault rainforest area of Olympic National Park.  Dennis has done a lot of exploring in his life, amongst other things hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and bicycling the Pan American Highway. Now he is focusing his skills and determination on academics, aspiring to have a meaningful impact on the world. He sees the Sustainability in Prisons Project as a means to that end. He likes to spend his spare time time in forests and mountains. Inner peace and a positive outward influence are his two main goals in life.
