Rachel Stendahl

Rachel grew up on a cattle farm on a small island in the Puget Sound where she developed her love of the environment, especially marine life. She attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA and obtained a B.S. in environmental science, emphasis in marine ecology. After graduation, Rachel completed two terms in AmeriCorps, one on a restoration crew in Skagit County, Washington, and the other at a zoo and education facility in Tucson, Arizona. She returned to Washington State in fall 2012 to join the Masters of Environmental Studies Program at Evergreen. Before joining SPP in spring 2013, she worked at as an aquarist at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. Rachel loves teaching environmental education. She plans to conduct thesis research in marine conservation, and become a professor in the discipline.
