Seth Dorman
Graduate Research Assistant
SPP Taylor’s Checkerspot Butterfly Program Coordinator
The Evergreen State College
Seth Dorman was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia. Seth has always had a keen fascination for nature’s pristine beauty and complexity. Seth received his B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry from Randolph College in Central Virginia. Seth is most passionate about wildlife and conservation ecology that addresses critical ecological issues concerning endangered wildlife and the deprivation of natural resources due to human affairs and climate change.
As a graduate student in the Master’s of Environmental Studies Program at Evergreen State College, Seth is eager to expand his knowledge of ecological systems, how to conserve the biodiversity within these systems, and learn how to better advocate for positive environmental change and awareness. Seth is thrilled to work with the endangered Taylor’s checkerspot butterfly as SPP’s program coordinator, and partner with the enthusiastic incarcerated technicians at Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women (MCCCW). Seth will bring his knowledge of biology and ecology to the program. He is also excited to learn new conservation techniques from collaborating biologists and experienced incarcerated technicians. Most important of all, he is happy to contribute to the future success of the Taylor’s checkerspot butterfly and native south Puget Sound prairies.
