Allie grew up in Olympia, Washington, surrounded by forest. She has been inspired by plants since she was a child, and began studying ethnobotany and environmental science during her undergraduate work at The Evergreen State College. After receiving her B.A., she hiked a 600-mile portion of the Pacific Crest Trail. Before starting the Master of Environmental Studies program, she worked in public libraries and on organic farms. Allie joined SPP with a passion for growing native plants and working collaboratively with people typically under-included in environmental sciences. Outside of work and school, Allie spends her time practicing sustainable herbalism, wild-foraging, playing music, and enjoying family and friends.
