Graduate Research Associate, MES Program
The Evergreen State College
Brittany grew up on a lake in southern Wisconsin, near which she learned to milk cows, make maple syrup, and tend garden vegetables. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Communications and Media in 2004, Brittany moved to Washington to join AmeriCorps on Whidbey Island. She stayed to work with the Institute for Children’s Environmental Health, and has returned after several years of international environmental work to continue her education in the MES program at Evergreen. Her interest in the connection between social and environmental issues led her to the Sustainability in Prisons Project, where she coordinates media and evaluations activities as well as a monthly lecture series held at Washington prisons.
